Follow-Up

Ultimo's merchandisers are specialized in certain product groups. They are in constant contact with the customer and supplier to make sure the product is followed closely through its custom-made critical path.

Ultimo's merchandisers assist customers in selecting the most suitable producers for their styles and collections with regard to volume, quality and price requirements. Each production stage is carefully monitored and reported.

Research

ULTIMO focuses on developing "new products" for its customers.

Research is done continuously to determine new product developments in Turkey and offer them to the consideration of Ultimo's customers.

Similarly, the product developments in other markets are also closely followed to bring these to the attention of Turkish producers and suppliers to guide them in anticipating the interests of their customers.

Sourcing

With our extensive knowledge of the Turkish industry and its capabilities, we provide detailed supplier information, negotiate cost breakdowns and assure the best possible production outcome to assist our customers in making correct business decisions.

For over 30 years we have primarily sourced for textiles and clothing, as well as household products, glassware, small leather goods and accessories, and some light furniture.

Social Compliance

For Ultimo, not only the product itself, but also the person who makes it is important. We support the social compliance awareness of our clients by carrying out social audits at the production locations.

Social compliance is a continuing process which aims at improving work conditions of employees and protecting the community and environment in which they live. This concerns not only suppliers themselves, but also their supply chain.

Most of our suppliers have social audits, like BSCI and Sedex, conducted at their factories by an independent certified auditing company. Findings are recorded and written in a report, which is available for clients to review.

Ultimo keeps track of suppliers’ social audit results. If a Corrective Action Plan is suggested, the improvements are closely monitored.

In addition Ultimo conducts client specific minimum requirement audits (MRQ) at the premises of potential suppliers. These audits mainly focus on;

knowing the production locations
prevention of child labour
no severe safety hazards and environmental pollution
social security rights of employees
employment rights in accordance with the local law and client’s policies

Logistics

Our logistics team follows up each step of the transportation process from the factory of the supplier to the warehouse of the customer. They ensure that all documents for customs and transportation are as required.

Quality

Ultimo is committed to controlling the production, by having an "eye" on the entire production process. This is done by means of utilizing full quality control systems and the professional services and technical abilities of the independent store-group accredited OPTIMA LTD, Textile Laboratory and Physical Inspection Services.
